LEE JOHNSON was full of praise for Celtic after his side was defeated 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Celtic could’ve chosen the score, dominating the match. After a first half brace from James Forrest and a Giakoumakis strike, the hoops went in 3-0 up at the break.

Johnson tried to change things at the break, with a change of formation and introducing four players to the game at once. His gamble didn’t work though, with Celtic putting another three goals past the side.

The Hibs manager was particularly impressed by the Japanese players, despite Kyogo and Maeda starting on the bench and Hatate not performing to his usual standards.

Talking to PLZ, Lee Johnson expressed his awe, saying;

“The lessons you can take from it are big. The detail and the standard.

“I look at the Japanese players and I think ‘wow, you are so dynamic, you’re squat, you’re powerful, you’re athletic.’

“If I was a player I’d be knocking on the door trying to get a shirt and id be saying ‘tell me that you do, tell me what you do every day. How do you wake up? What do you eat for breakfast? Do you stretch for three hours? How many weights do you do?’ Do you know what I mean?

“That’s the standard effectively that the boys want and need to be at.”

The English manager is lucky that his side only conceded six goals today, with Celtic squandering a few chances and the referee coming to the rescue in the dying moments of the game, calling for a Bernabei foul after he had beaten his man – quite a bizarre call to be honest.
