Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn has begun to hit form over the past few weeks despite experiencing a slow start to life in Glasgow.

The German joined the hoops in January with high expectations although his early performances in green and white didn’t live up to fans’ hopes.

Very early on in his Celtic career, Kuhn was criticised by many, some supporters even labelling him a flop.

What few know, though, is that the 24-year-old experienced issues with his weight, fitness, and teeth when he initially joined Celtic. He has taken a while to settle in but it has been worth the wait.

In recent games, Kuhn has been key. He assisted Daizen Maeda with a sublime cross against Livingston in the Scottish Cup a few weeks ago before scoring and setting up another versus St. Johnstone six days later.

He stood out once more at Almondvale and will likely start the upcoming Glasgow derby.

Every player wants to play on the big stage, and Kuhn is no different. Although Sunday will be his first taste of the fixture, he does have prior knowledge of it.

Indeed, his agent played for Rangers. Since Kuhn’s move, however, he has switched his Glasgow allegiances. “My agent [Christian Nerlinger] played for Rangers”, the attacker told CeltsAreHere.

“Before I came here, he told me a lot about the match and how important it is to the people.

“I think he’s a Celtic fan now!”, he joked.
