Neil Lennon has this afternoon confirmed that Celtic right-back Jeremie Frimpong’s injury was not as bad as first feared and there is no ligament damage after a nasty challenge in the last League game from Devante Cole forced him off.

The Northern Irishman confirmed that Frimpong has also back in training for the last few weeks of the international break, so he should be ready to go for the big game against Hibs tomorrow afternoon.

When the challenge went in on the 19-year old, many supporters were shocked to see that the Well striker had not received a red card for the tackle, which could have caused serious damage for the right-back.

Luckily though, this comes as a boost to the Celtic side that has suffered their fair share of injuries so far this season.

Frimpong is also a player who is constantly fouled, because of the speed he plays the game at. Many feel that referees and officials should be doing more to protect a young player like Frimpong, as this has now happened several times and is becoming increasingly more dangerous.
