Celtic number nine, Leigh Griffiths has talked up the partnership between himself and Odsonne Edouard and has admitted he hopes the duo can fire the Hoops to the title once again.

As quoted by the Glasgow Times, the Scottish international who has recently returned to the starting lineup once again, has begun to rekindle his partnership with the Frenchman with the front two starting alongside each other in the last two games – admitting he hopes they can keep it up, going into some of the biggest games of the season.

“The gaffer knows what I can do, it’s just about trying to get that consistency going again, especially the linking up with Odsonne.

“You saw how good it was at the back end of last season and hopefully we can try to rediscover that now.

“We’ve been playing well and not getting the rub of the green at times, but the performances are coming together now. We look more assured and hopefully, we can take that forward.

“(Odsonne) had quite a second half. He’s not been playing his best football of late, but you saw how good he was today. His link-up play, his hold up play, his running off the ball was brilliant. Hopefully, that’s him turned the corner and we can get him all firing again.

“Let’s hope we can put a run together, but we just need to take it game by game. We’ve played well together the last two games and hopefully, we’ll get the chance again on Wednesday to prove we deserve to be up there.

“I like to go in behind and he likes to come short to feet. It stretches defenders when they don’t know whether to stay with him or drop off, where he’ll get at people and get turned.”

In the second half of last season, we played some of our best football with both Griffiths and Edouard up front together.

The duo seem to have a great connection which was visible in yesterday’s game as both linked up multiple times with Edouard setting up Griffiths for his strike to put Celtic two up.

It is starting to look as though like both will become regular starters alongside each other again after a couple of good performances. Going into the game on both Wednesday and Saturday, Neil Lennon has some key decisions to make, including whether or not to start the striking duo.
