Motherwell have reportedly turned down a bid for their highly-rated young midfielder, Lennon Miller. According to Sky Sports, the Steelmen rejected a 2.5 million bid from Italian side- Udinese.

Celtic Interest Cools?

Celtic have long been linked with Miller, with the Scottish champions said to be keeping tabs on the talented youngster for some time.

However, a report from the Mailsports back in November suggested that Motherwell were looking for a figure of around 4 million for the midfielder. Since then, Celtic has gone quiet, potentially due to Motherwell’s firm stance on their asking price.

Miller, who has emerged as one of the most promising midfielders in Scotland, has been a standout performer for Motherwell this season, making a strong impression with his composure and maturity in the middle of the park despite his young age.

A Star in Demand

It remains unclear which club tabled the rejected £2.5 million bid, though several teams have reportedly been monitoring Miller’s development. Motherwell’s valuation of £4 million reflects their belief in his potential, as the 18-year-old continues to establish himself as a key player at Fir Park.

While Celtic have strengthened their midfield with significant investments in recent transfer windows, Miller remains a player with long-term potential who could fit their recruitment model. The Parkhead club have had a history of signing young Scottish talent over the years, most notably Scott Brown and Ryan Christie.

Whether Celtic reignite their interest or another club steps forward to meet Motherwell’s demands remains to be seen.

  1. Not saying the laddie will not turn out to be an excellent player but right here right now it would be ill advised on both sides of the fence for Celtic to pay the £4M asking price for him. He clearly wants to play every week and we can’t guarantee him that right now. He would walk into Sevco’s team but there are not enough couches in the world with two bob behind a cushion for them to even look at it.

  2. We don’t want to make the same mistake as we did with John McGinn so a bid of 3m and a loan back to Motherwell until at least the end of the season would be a good deal all round for everyone concerned – Celtic, Motherwell and especially Lennon Miller.

  3. Pay £5m now, loan to Motherwell for the remainder of the season, he can take Hatate’s place next season. Dont look what he is, look what he can become. We could make a great profit on him in 3 years but would love it if he took the Callum McGregor route

  4. Isn’t he out for the remainder of the season? The loan back isn’t going to be that attractive 😅

And, why state Udinese bid £2.5m and then say you don’t know who made the bid?

    Makes no sense
