LYON appear to be braced to lose some of their top stars this summer when football does return.

Moussa Dembele has been one of the club’s star players since moving from Celtic but with no Champions league football for Lyon next term, they believe some of their players will move on to make sure they’re playing in Europe’s top competition.

Nobody was mentioned by name but Lyon’s chairman Jean-Michel Aulas is pragmatic enough to know what happens next.

“I am going to do everything to keep the players.” he told RecordSport.

“But players who are programmed to play in Europe could want to go elsewhere because we don’t have European football.”

Moussa has been constantly linked with a move to the Premier League – this summer seems like the jumping off point for the former Hoops striker.

If that’s the case, then Celtic will be in line for some of the profit on any deal which takes the striker away from Lyon.

At a time where budgets will be stretched, Celtic would be delighted to see this move take place. If Moussa is looking for Champions League football, who will offer him that and will there be big money put up for the striker considering football finances are under the microscope?
