NEIL LENNON has lavished praise on his striker and super-sub, Patryk Klimala after the player came off the bench with ten minutes to go against Hamilton and grabbed himself a terrific goal.

Paddy had a slow start to his Celtic career at the start of the year when a Leigh Griffiths renaissance was in full swing. With the Scottish striker turning up unfit to pre-season training back in June, it opened the door for Klimala to take his chance.

Right now, the Polish striker is absolutely taking it. Even with just ten minutes to show what he can do, the frontman managed to get on the scoresheet. The pressure at Celtic and demand from supporters means if you don’t score in the little minutes you have, you can be quickly written off. Patryk has put himself in a position to succeed and Neil Lennon recognises that.

“You can see that he’s bulked up and is taking on board what he needs to do.” Lennon told the Celtic View.

“He’s so hungry. And, do you know what, while it’s a great run and he’s done brilliantly to hold the defender off, it’s a great finish. He takes it early and catches the goalkeeper by surprise. By doing so, he totally outwits the goalkeeper and it’s a top-class finish from a difficult angle.

“He can be absolutely delighted with that. We are! And again, that’s testament to the work he’s been doing over the break and into pre-season until now. He’s hungry, he knows what he needs to and wants to improve on.”

Klimala turns 22 today and shows maturity beyond his age. If he continues to put the work in, there’s no way Neil Lennon can ignore him.
