All good things come to those who wait. That is certainly a concept Celtic fans have had to adapt to in the latest transfer window shenanigans. So much energy from the On/Off David Turnbull transfer saga was wasted over a few weeks that only a big signing would appease Celtic fans. And, Celtic delivered with French defender Christopher Jullien.

Neil Lennon has just revealed that Jullien was his priority signing for the summer.

Speaking with Sun Sport the Irishman had this to say:

“We are spinning plates at the minute and we hope to bring a couple more in. “Christopher Jullien was our No 1 target, so it’s really good to get that deal established.

“He is certainly not a project. He is hopefully going to come in and hit the ground running. “He might need a bit of work to start with and we’ll need to integrate him with the squad but he is coming in to play.”

Lennon also confirmed that he and Peter Lawwell are on the phone a couple of times a day to try to get more signings secured before the window closes. Yesterday, Celtic secured the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Luca Connell, one for the future maybe. Unlike Jullien who Lennon wants to see in a starting line up sooner rather than later.

Celtic have one more friendly to play against St Gallen on Tuesday before they play their first competitive game of the season against FK Sarajevo on the 9th of July.
