Celtic are far from done in this year’s transfer window with four bodies already in this summer.

Neil Lennon has spoken a few times now about other deals being close but admitted himself this week, the club are finding the going tough trying to finalise deals.

One area of the pitch where the Irishman still wants to strengthen is the right-back position. Hatem Abd Elhamed has been brought into play right-back initially but the obvious thinking would be to use the Israeli as a utility man between right back and centre back and have an out and out right-back.

With that in mind, Celtic have been linked with a plethora of targets this summer and one man’s name who has cropped up more than once is Peter Ankersen.

The 28-year-old looks to have fallen down the pecking order at Copenhagen according to Record Sport and could be allowed to leave before the end of this window.

Ankerson, who has previously played against Celtic with Red Bull Salzburg is an experienced right back with lots of energy. The one thing going against the player is age; while coming into his best years there would be very little resale value in the player.

The Dane has been capped 25 times by his country.

While Celtic don’t religiously stick to this transfer template, they aim for it more often than not.
