Throughout the 2021/22 campaign, Celtic fans have been left delighted at the continued progress of Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Since the winter break, the group of players have been almost faultless in their results and level of performance, with the side continuing to gel as the weeks go on, whilst also picking up crucial results that has seen the Hoops rise to the top of the Scottish Premiership.

One thing that Ange has been keen to state during these last few weeks and months, though, is that his squad still has improvement to come and levels to go up.

Speaking to Celtic TV in his latest interview, the Hoops manager continued to reiterate that point, stating that squad depth will be key to his sides continued progression.

“Everyone got through the (Motherwell) game really well, and we were able to rest a couple which was important.

“I think for us, moving forward, that is going to be a key component of us continuingly trying to raise our levels.

“We need to use players through this process. We have some really good depth now, and we’re getting more depth in our squad.

“You saw somebody like Tom (Rogic) perform really well, but we can’t expect Tom to perform well if he plays the next eight games, in the next 28 days.

“So with us being able to rotate is important.”

On Sunday, Ange was able to make a few changes to the side, bringing the likes of Anthony Ralston, Tom Rogic and Daizen Maeda into the starting line-up, with all three playing a part in the 4-0 win over Motherwell.

The 56-year old was also able to turn to Matt O’Riley and Jota in the later stages of the game, which is an exciting prospect for Celtic supporters. But at the same time, a scary thought for opposition defences.

It is interesting to hear Ange speaking about this in-depth, after the improvements made to his squad during the January window, and it now might provide a clearer picture of how he plans to use it for the rest of the season.
