ANGE POSTECOGLOU has been linked to Brighton and Hove Albion after their boss made the move to Chelsea. [BBC] Graham Potter was a brilliant manager while at the club, and replacing him would be tricky.
After various journalists and outlets tried to link the Celtic manager to the vacant job, it’s been revealed that Postecoglou isn’t on the Seagull’s four-man shortlist.
The Athletic report that Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen has been shortlisted, alongside Russell Martin of Swansea City and Luton Town gaffer Nathan Jones. Premier League rival’s manager Steve Cooper is also a potential replacement.
With these four names, it suggests that Postecoglou isn’t an option for the seaside club.
Even if the Aussie manager were the number 1 candidate for Brighton, I wouldn’t see him shifting. He’s in a great place at Celtic, and he’s still got a lot to achieve at the club.
The club need to deter others from trying to poach their manager, though. It was reported during the summer months discussions regarding a new contract were underway. The club need to tie him down to a long-term deal and show yet another statement of intent.
