Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has given a shirt and sharp update on his Newcastle future after heavy speculation has linked him with a St James Park exit.
The Spaniard is now out of contract and is free to talk to any clubs about a potential move in the summer.
Celtic have been heavily linked with the former Liverpool man and he’s currently the bookies third favourite behind Neil Lennon and Davie Moyes.
Speaking after the Premier League got wrapped up on Sunday afternoon – the manager was non committal on his future but did admit he would hear the Newcastle owner Mike Ashley out this week before making any decision.
Benitez, after Mike Ashley visited NUFC dressing room, said: “We will have a meeting this week hopefully & see where we are. I can see the potential of this massive club & hopefully we can do things to move forward together”. pic.twitter.com/jIkwq3e0QQ

Celtic have been without a full time boss since February when Brendan Rodgers made a dramatic exit from the club to head to Leicester. It would be an absolute long shot to try and get a manager of his standing in the door at Celtic but it would be criminal not to at least ask the question.
