Reports in today’s Birmingham Mail claim Celtic have made a u-turn with regards to Odsonne Edouard and will come down from their £40m transfer fee before the end of the window.

Neil Lennon has insisted to this point the club haven’t been encouraging bids and they’ve had nothing official to this point.

Birmingham Mail are claiming Aston Villa have received a boost in their pursuit of the French striker.

Sources we’ve spoken to down south claim most clubs in the bottom ten of the Premier League have stayed clear because they believe Edouard will land a Kieran Tierney like transfer and not have to go via a lower league EPL club.

It’s all moot if Celtic don’t want to sell but we’d be surprised if no bids are forthcoming with deadline day approaching.

Edouard has two years left on his deal. If he wasn’t to sign a new deal but stay this season, the club wouldn’t be in a strong bargaining position next summer.
