CELTIC have not been without their scouting issues over the past few years. Lee Congerton was not up to scratch and Celtic’s summer man Nicky Hammond hasn’t exactly impressed since coming in at the start of July.

Neil Lennon is apparently looking to bring some of his own scouts in and according to RecordSport the Irishman wants to bring back former Celtic striker Tommy Johnson for a scouting role at the club.

The former Geordie striker was at the Celtic Festival back in July for photo opportunities during the three-day event.

IF the reports are true, Neil must feel the 48-year-old has an eye for a player and would be a valuable asset to have down south.

Celtic need to re-think how they scout players and once they identify players they must move a lot quicker than they currently do.

Peter Lawwell is a tough negotiator but when you have the Celtic manager claiming one or two could be in by a certain day and then nothing happens, it becomes frustrating for the support.
