BRENDA RODGERS has confirmed Filip Benkovic will be out for at LEAST 4-5 weeks after the player suffered an ankle injury during Celtic’s win over Hamilton at the weekend.
The Celtic manager called it a ‘knock’ during his pre-match press conference before the St Johnstone game but speculation quickly picked up the defender could be out for the season; while it doesn’t seem as bad as that, it’s still a major blow for the bhoys.

Celtic must do without their star centre back for the Valencia doubleheader as well as the Scottish Cup tie against St Johnstone and a bucket load of league games.
Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic picked up the pieces during Celtic’s 2-0 win over St Johnstone on Wednesday night and one of them will likely partner Boyata when the Belgian gets back to full fitness.
Celtic currently just have over 24 hours to bring in new faces with a right-back still being high on the list of targets.
