A few weeks ago, Ryan Fraser was touted as a potential addition to Celtic, especially as the club sought quality reinforcements on the wings after Jota’s departure.

However, any speculation of Fraser joining the Scottish side has been put to rest as the winger is poised to move to Championship team Southampton on a season-long loan, Keith Downie of Sky Sports News reports.

This transfer would end Fraser’s spell with Newcastle’s development squad, where he’s been training ahead of the new season.

Newcastle had been keen to part ways with the Scottish international, particularly after his relationship soured with manager Eddie Howe, both at Bournemouth and upon Howe’s arrival at Newcastle.

Many Celtic supporters might breathe a sigh of relief, given that Fraser won’t be making his way to Glasgow.

Conversely, Celtic appears to be in advanced talks to secure the services of Luis Palma. The winger’s recent absence from training, combined with discussions about his future by his agent, suggests a potential move is imminent. CeltsAreHere reported earlier that Palma has reportedly shown a preference for Celtic despite having offers from two clubs outside of Europe.
