The captain of Celtic’s Women side, Kelly Clark, has recently been called up to represent her nation this month.

Clark has joined up with the Scotland Women side, replacing Rachel Corsie in the squad. The defender will look to contribute for the Scots when they take on Northern Ireland on Friday evening and then Finland next Tuesday.

Up to this point, Clark has played for Scotland just twice. Both of these appearances came in friendlies back in 2022 so she is no stranger to playing in non-competitive games for her nation, something that may happen this time around.

Clark’s international record is not the greatest despite her being captain of one of the foremost women’s teams in Scotland. The way she handles herself at Celtic is always first class and the 29-year-old does not receive enough international acclaim for what she does.

This camp, though, does provide Clark with an opportunity to put her abilities on show to Scotland boss Pedro Martinez Losa with the view of ensuring her name is in more of the Spaniard’s squads in the future.
