CeltsAreHere understands Oliver Sørensen and Joël van den Berg are both now in Glasgow after completing medicals in London, as Celtic move closer to completing a double midfield deal.

The development comes after an image of the pair began circulating on X on Monday evening, with both players now in Scotland ahead of the final stages of their moves.

Van den Berg’s transfer has progressed steadily over the past few days.

Celtic representatives travelled to Eindhoven on Friday to hold talks over the PSV midfielder, who was subsequently left out of Jong PSV’s 2-2 draw with RKC Waalwijk amid uncertainty over his future.

Reports in the Netherlands then claimed the Hoops and PSV were closing in on an agreement, with Van den Berg keen on the switch to Glasgow.

A deal worth around £3.4 million has since been agreed, with the highly-rated midfielder set to join Celtic on a permanent basis.

Sørensen’s loan move has developed at a much quicker pace.

The Parma midfielder emerged as a Celtic target on Monday, with reports stating that a season-long loan had been agreed with the Serie A side.

That deal is expected to include an option to buy, although the value of that clause has not yet been disclosed.

Sørensen travelled for his medical before making his way to Glasgow, with Celtic now working through the remaining formalities.

Martin O’Neill has been clear that midfield is an area he wants strengthened following Arne Engels’ departure, and the expected arrivals of Van den Berg and Sørensen would give him two fresh options.

Van den Berg arrives as a younger player Celtic believe can develop into a first-team regular, while Sørensen brings more senior experience from Denmark and Italy.

With both players now in Glasgow, official confirmation of the two deals should be the next step as Celtic continue their late transfer push.
