Celtic have gone through a major overhaul and the trend will likely continue into the summer no matter the outcome of the Scottish Premiership.

Ange has made some major changes and now it will be tweaks this summer as he looks to prepare his Celtic side properly. a luxury he didn’t have at the beginning of this season.

In order to make those tweaks, Celtic are going to move on some players who haven’t made the cut.

One person that immediately springs to mind is Albian Ajeti. Speaking to a few Celtic fans this week about Celtic’s striking options, Ajeti never came into the conversation once and when I brought him up – many had genuinely forgotten the Swiss striker was still at Parkhead.

Ajeti was injured earlier this season against Real Betis and only made the bench for the first time in March. It’s clear the 25-year-old doesn’t really fit into Ange’s system. The overhaul and summer plans will NOT include the striker.

Celtic are expected to take a significant financial hit on the player when he does leave. THere’s no way Michael Nicholson will be able to get back what Peter Lawwell put down for Albian.

It was a signing that seemed fraught from the beginning, the dreaded word down Celtic way was Ivan Toney who Celtic passed on to sign Albian.

With no future at Celtic – the player will likely find himself elsewhere come the start of next season. We already know Celtic tried and failed to sell the player or even loan him out in January [RecordSport]. There’s a club out there that will be able to rehabilitate Albian.

  1. Won’t be missed. An absolute disaster of a signing. Imagine we could have got Toney for a couple of million more. Lawell hang your head in shame.
