Former Celtic midfielder Stylian Petrov has called for clarity around the rumoured appointment of Eddie Howe.

There have been heavy rumours for weeks now but we are still to hear of anything official from the club regarding Eddie Howe or the possible appointment of the next permanent manager.

Although the season might have just ended, at Celtic the summer is a quick turnaround and before you know it the Champions League qualifiers are upon us. Speaking on Go Radio, as quoted by the Daily Record, Petrov has called for some clarity on the whole situation.

“I hope we’re going to see an appointment very soon.

“I mean, the new season is just around the corner again. We’d like to see a bit of clarity, somebody who is willing to change things in a different way.

“And then we can move on.

“I’m actually excited. I’m excited to see what Celtic Football Club will offer going forward to challenge Rangers next year.

“Who’s going to be the new manager? New signings? This excites me.

“The more we wait, the more conscious we get.”

Even though the appointment hasn’t been officially confirmed, you would hope that the club is well underway in its progress with appointing a new manager and a possible director of football.

As time rumbles on, supporters become increasingly frustrated with no news. So, the club is under pressure in that sense to get the next manager in soon.

Especially now that season tickets for next season are expected to be announced at some point around next week.

  1. What about Nuno Espírito Santo. He’s got the short straw from Wolves?

Celtic or Eddie Who are playing silly buggers. This has to stop. You can’t have fans, throwing their money at this problem. That’s the suits job. To take a chance on whoever eventually walks through the sainted (sic’) glass doors of the main stand at Paradise. This should have happened four months ago. How do you expect any manager to hit the road ice skating. When they don’t even have a team left to coach. Now we know how slippy G felt, when he had the rug pulled beneath his feet.

  2. The last time i saw Petrov he was running up the tunnel in a huff looking for a move to the EPL the day Celtic clinched the league title at Celtic Park.

Petrov can go and knock one out.
