CELTIC saw out their second last match before the international break against Motherwell.
The Hoops took a 1-0 lead into halftime, which could have easily been more. Celtic then doubled their lead late into the second half after a well-composed strike from Maeda hit the back of the net minutes after Jota saw his goal chopped off for offside.
A late goal for the home side brought them back into the match as they looked to take a point away from the match.
Willie Collum didn’t have his best games in the middle of the park.
Here are three talking points as Celtic maintain their lead at the top of the league.
Change of Tactics for Ange
There were quite a lot of balls played over the top tonight. Some worked well, with Kyogo able to get in behind the defence. It was frustrating at points, but Celtic did threaten from similar balls.
Fast Starting Celtic
it was the 11th match this season that Celtic have scored within the opening 15 minutes of a match. The side have been quick out of the blocks, causing teams trouble early on in games.
Kyogo Shows Japan What They’re Missing
Kyogo was sensational at Fir Park. His goal was well taken, but he showed some other sides to his game. His work rate was superb and had some great passing. His ball through to Jota for the disallowed goal was sensational. Japan are missing out on a top, top player for the tournament in Qatar.
