Former Celtic star Tom Rogic was on the scoresheet for West Bromwich Albion tonight in their win at the Stadium of Light.

Rogic departed the Scottish champions in the summer and has failed to make too much of an impact in the English Championship, having only made six appearances before tonight’s arrival off the bench.

Many Hoops fans were left stunned to see that Rogic hadn’t found a new club until after the summer window closed, as it was widely believed that the 29-year-old was looking to move to somewhere closer to Australia.

That was not the case and he joined the Baggies under the stewardship of former Manchester United legend Steve Bruce who was latterly sacked by West Brom and replaced with Carols Corberán.

This caused a horrible situation for Rogic, who was then left out of Australia’s squad for the World Cup as Graham Arnold didn’t decide to take the former Celtic star to Qatar.

Had he been selected alongside current Celt Aaron Mooy he would have earned the club some more money, as the Hoops have also benefited from Jeremie Frimpong and Olivier Ntcham.

It’s great to see him return to scoring ways having stuck the ball in the back of the net on many an important occasion while in green and white hoops.
