Celtic youngster Luca Connell has been awarded the club’s goal of the season for his strike back in March against Albion Rovers.

Just two games into his loan spell with the Spiders, the Irishman produced a fantastic strike from outside the area which was voted by the fans as their goal of the season.

Connell played a key part in Ray McKinnon’s side in their push towards the end of the season to lift the League 2 title, playing 11 games, scoring three goals and assisting five.

At the time, it was a surprise to see the 21-year old go out on loan to Queens Park. However, it provided Connell with a chance to play games and get minutes under his belt, which he has struggled for so far in his Celtic career.

Hopefully, this short spell out on loan has helped Connell prepare for next season to come in and impact the Celtic first-team.
