It doesn’t get much better for Celtic starlet Lee O’Connor on the international stage this month with the player winning his first senior cap against New Zealand before heading back to the under 21s and helping them thrash Sweden – scoring a goal in the process.

The Irishman came in from Manchester Utd in the summer and is yet to make a first team appearance at club level, however, Ireland have put a lot of faith in the defender and he’s repaying them in a big way.

Lee was called up to the first team squad last week because he was suspended for the first Ireland under 21 game – a bit of unfortunate luck turning into a positive for the Celtic player.

Celtic look like they have a player on their hands and it’s only a matter of time before he gets his chance in the first team.

Here’s his goal against Sweden on Tuesday night for the under 21s.
