What a funny few months it has been in the life of a Celtic fan. A mass exodus of first-team players in the summer caused widespread panic. The Celtic board left it late to do their business which did not help matters but right now Neil Lennon looks blessed with the squad he has.

With qualification to the last 32 of the Europa already in the bag, Lennon named a bit of an unorthodox team tonight against Rennes. There was no striker in the starting eleven but that didn’t stop the Bhoys from bagging three goals and it could have been a lot more.

The third goal came the way of two players who have very little game time under their belt this season but this bit of video shows the depth in this Celtic squad.

If this was Messi and Suarez linking up like this at the Camp Nou it would be plastered all over Sky Sports News. All the same, it is very encouraging to know this is the kind of player pushing for a start into the Celtic team.

Lewis Morgan is another player who done himself the world of good tonight. There might have been a few moans when he was giving a rare start tonight but he showed enough to give the doubters think he has something to offer at Paradise.
