Greg Taylor has taken a lot of stick during his Celtic career, but under Ange Postecoglou there was a massive U-turn, and fans were backing the player, who was excelling in his role.

In recent weeks, the player has come under criticism again, but his last two performances against Livingston and Motherwell can’t go unnoticed.

Celtic emerged victorious with a 2-1 score on Saturday, but it was the dramatic final minutes that stood out.

Taylor, who was clattered by a Motherwell player and required on-pitch treatment, showcased unparalleled tenacity. Even Rodgers admitted he would’ve liked to substitute him had there been an option. But Taylor, the epitome of resilience, soldiered on, delivering a critical assist for the 97th-minute winner after an equaliser had been conceded in the 96th.

The assist for Matt O’Riley was top-notch. He didn’t rush anything or try to force anything that wasn’t on. He got his head up, had a look to see what was happening, spotted O’Riley’s run and floated a wonderful ball into him.

After being heavily criticised this season, fans should be applauding the player after his contribution to the match.

He may not be the long-term answer, but he’s certainly putting in the graft this season.
