Eseosa Sule, a 16–year–old striker from Celtic‘s youth rank, has opted to transfer to West Brom in the English Championship. [RecordSport]
After signing his first professional contract with Celtic in the summer, the Scots–born Nigerian has agreed to a deal with the Midlands club.
Sule will join the list of former Celtic youth players, like Ben Doak (Liverpool) and Liam Morrison and Barry Hepburn (Bayern Munich), who have moved on after making a mark in the Parkhead academy.
He travelled south this afternoon to sign the agreement.
Celtic supporters likely haven‘t had much exposure to the player, so his departure will not be a significant blow. The club has successfully held onto its young talent in recent months, and Ange is building a more stable path to the first team.
The bhoys have also received a fee for the player which will likely be reinvested in the youth academy.
