Many fans will have great memories of the Seville run back in 2003, which saw us end up in the final after being sides such as Liverpool, Blackburn and Boavista to name just a few along the way.

And whilst those remain great memories, losing out in the final in extra time is always one which hurts to go back and talk about., some haven’t even watched the highlights back, even though Henrik Larsson scored two fantastic goals that night.

From a personal point of view, I was only one year old at the time of that final, so I don’t recall any memories.

Growing up a Celtic fan though, you are always told about the special atmosphere that took place that night and see the photos of stands within the stadium filled to the brim with the Green, White and Gold colours.

Despite losing that night and it being so tough to take, as a young Celtic fan these are the sort of nights you wish to have experienced in your lifetime. You hear the stories of fans, whether that be from that night or even just along the way of other games on the road to Seville.

It is extremely unlikely we will see a Celtic team good enough to compete at that level ever again, with the money ever-growing and impacting the game more as the years go on. But what you would give now to make it to a European final for more nights like that now.
