Kieron Bowie Celtic Transfer Update

CeltsAreHere can provide an update on the latest transfer speculation surrounding Kieron Bowie and Celtic.

Reports from Italy have suggested the Hoops have made preliminary enquiries to Hellas Verona regarding the Scotland international following the club’s relegation from Serie A.

However, CeltsAreHere understands there has been no confirmation that Celtic have made a direct approach to Verona over the player.

As things stand, CeltsAreHere has had no confirmation of a direct club-to-club approach from Celtic to Hellas Verona, with the link currently best viewed as reported interest rather than a formal move.

That does not rule out Celtic holding an interest in the player.

Bowie has been on the radar of clubs in Scotland and beyond for some time, and his situation in Italy is naturally one to watch after Verona’s relegation.

The 23-year-old only joined Verona from Hibernian in January in a deal worth around £6 million. That makes any potential transfer this summer complicated, even with the Italian side dropping out of the top flight.

Verona’s relegation has changed the landscape around the squad. Players who may have been viewed as part of a Serie A project could now be assessed differently, especially if offers arrive from clubs playing European football or competing at the top end of their domestic leagues.

From a Celtic point of view, the attacking department is expected to be looked at this summer.

Bowie would be an interesting profile. He is strong, direct and can play through the middle, while also having experience working from wider areas. He knows Scottish football from his time at Hibs, but his move to Italy also showed a willingness to test himself away from the usual path.

There is a big difference between a player being watched, a situation being monitored, and a club making a direct approach. As things stand, CeltsAreHere has not had confirmation of the latter.

Celtic are expected to assess several attacking options as the window develops, and Bowie’s name may remain part of that wider conversation.

But at this stage, while Italian reports have linked Celtic with preliminary enquiries, there is no confirmation of a direct club approach to Verona.

  1. Celtic will assess loads of strikers under £3M, but usually sign none of them.
They are waiting to see who is out of contract and if any free transfers.
