CELTIC have been approached by the representatives of former Besiktas and Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal about the vacant managerial position at the club.

According to SunSport, the 53-year-old has told Celtic he would be very interested in taking on the job this summer on a full-time basis.

However, the Portuguese manager is not the only one who wants the job and while Celtic may be flattered by his interest, it would appear to be a long shot by Carlos.

Chris Hughton entered the bettings odds on Monday when he was unceremoniously axed as Brighton boss even though he kept them in the premier league and got the Seasiders to an FA Cup semi-final.

The usual suspects are also in the running with David Moyes up there in the odds. Neil Lennon is still favourite to land the role after taking over on an interim basis back in February. Celtic are not planning on making a decision until after the Cup Final.
