CELTIC kicked off their league campaign with a defeat to Hearts at the end of July sparking fears the bhoys were already going to be playing catch up for the season.

However, with the Celtic game 24 hours away, former Celtic captain Charlie Mulgrew and Dundee Utd have handed the bhoys a major boost by defeating Celtic’s city rivals 1-0 at Tannadice.

Celtic now go into the game at Celtic Park on Sunday knowing a win would put them back on level pegging with the Ibrox club who have suffered their first defeat in domestic competition in over a year. They appear to be struggling with playing in front of crowds again – they thrived in a training ground atmosphere during the pandemic.

Today’s result counts for nothing if Celtic can’t do the business on Sunday. There will be 24,500 fans inside the stadium and those in attendance must do their bit to make sure Celtic grab the victory against Dundee.

Let’s hope Ange and his side are up to the task.

  1. They were under no pressure in the league last season. No supporters on their backs and they flourished. Anytime they have any pressure they bottle it. We need to build up steam and remain in the contest until Christmas. If we drop silly points it piles pressure on Ange and he will be gone handing them the league. Learn from last season Celtic. Having 49,000 at home will not suit them.
