Former Celtic sensation, Jota, recently attracted the attention of Turkish giants, Fenerbahce.

With the Turkish transfer window open until September 15th, an arrangement could be agreed upon.

Fenerbahce had initially shown interest in securing Jota on loan. Yet, reports from the Middle East via the Glasgow Times suggest they’ve now shelved these plans, with the club’s management choosing to persist with Josh King in the forward position.

Adding to Jota’s woes is the looming prospect of limited game time. As per regulations, the Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ittihad, where Jota transferred for £25 million, has reached its quota for foreign players.

This restriction could keep Jota sidelined until at least the January window, denying him crucial minutes on the pitch.

Despite this setback, Jota can find solace in his lucrative contract with Al-Ittihad, which guarantees a steady influx of income. However, for a player of his calibre, the lack of action until Christmas might prove to be a testing period.

It’s worth noting that Jota stirred up considerable interest from top European clubs. Italy’s Atalanta from Serie A and English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur reportedly had the winger on their radar, but a deal never materialised.
