Jota’s shock move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad was sealed on Monday evening.

The transfer of the Portuguese to the Middle East banked Celtic a fair amount of cash; however, they did lose one of their best players and top talents.

Jota has yet to face the press since the move to Al-Ittihad, but he did break his silence via an Instagram post on Tuesday afternoon.

To his 338,000 followers, the Portuguese shared a few snaps from his signing and said:

“So excited to have joined the Champions of Saudi and the biggest club in Asia.

“Can’t wait to meet you all in Jeddah and thank you for the warm Welcome.

“An adventure is about to start.”

Albeit he is joining a new team, Jota has yet even to mention or thank Celtic since he departed Glasgow.

It will be interesting to see if he does so in the future as, at least when he was at the club, it looked like he was as passionate as any fan on the pitch.

Nevertheless, he is not obligated to do this, although it is fair to say it would be a classy touch if he did.

  1. Jota was a transient professional like virtually all our players & staff.
About time folk and the sites started to wise up to this and stop deluding yourselves that these guys “get” Celtic.
Here to do a job for as much money as possible.
Nothing wrong with that if they perform, but the hero worship is misplaced.
