The tides have long turned with the Scottish National football team. Nowadays, squads are predominately made up of champions- Celtic’s champions. Last year up to six players were finding a starting place for the national team, who dug the former Ibrox man out of a massive hole.
Alex McCleish will delve into the Celtic team again to find the form players. Nobody is more in form than Oliver Burke right now. Celtic fans are falling over themselves throwing superlatives at the young loanee. He ran riot against St. Johnstone at the weekend and has exploded into the Celtic first team.
Celtic fans want the chequebook out or at least to see an effort to wrestle Burke away from West Brom on a permanent basis. The young winger turned striker already has five caps for his country but his last game was in 2017. Scotland has a doubleheader next month with Kazakhstan and San Marino.
According to Sun Sport, McLeish is set to include Burke in the squad for those two games. If it wasn’t for Celtic and Brendan Rodgers Burke would be left in no man’s land down south.
