CELTIC have confirmed that the club will participate in a tournament down under while the World Cup takes place. The club confirmed that three other teams would join in today’s statement.

Interestingly, the Hoops are branding the friendly competition as “Ange’s Aussie Homecoming”. To me, this demonstrates the backing of our manager.

The tournament is not for another nine months; the club clearly envisages Ange Postecogou to be their manager for the long run – this is excellent news.

The only thing left to do is offer the Australian a long-term contract, replacing the 12-month rolling contract he is currently on.

The majority of the Celtic support is against the tournament. It’s rumoured that The Rangers will be joining the Parkhead club Downunder, something many are struggling to get their head around.

The club has contradicted last year’s statement, “We’re not half of anything”. The club thinks otherwise if they are willing to use the “Old Firm” trademark for their commercial gain.
