Ferencvaros goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has heaped praise on Celtic ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s Europa League fixture.

The Hungarian shot-stopper had a spell in Scotland with Edinburgh side Hibs and knows all about Celtic as a club from his time in the country.

However, the former Liverpool goalkeeper insisted his current side still believe they can pull off a similar result to when the two teams faced off last season in the early stages of Champions League qualifying.

“The same is true for Celtic as it is for Barcelona – they are both more than a club,” as quoted by the Daily Record.

“But last season, we knocked them out of the Champions League, and that was a huge achievement and one that is certainly not unrepeatable this week too.

“Celtic are a club who are known and recognised all over the world. They play in colours that everyone knows, although I must point out they only got them from my old club Hibs.

“Every match at Parkhead has an incredible atmosphere. I was lucky enough to play there once for Hibs against a Celtic side managed by Brendan Rodgers and only lost 4-2 in a really intense match.

“I’ve heard that Celtic have been hit hard financially with not playing in the Champions League and having no fans in during the pandemic.

“And if ever a team should worry about having no fans in the stadium, then it’s Celtic.”

Tomorrow’s game will be a bizarre afternoon, considering the Hoops are playing at the strange time of 3:30 PM on a Tuesday.

At the same time, though, it will be considerably different than the last time the two sides played one another, last summer with the Celtic Park crowd being behind Ange Postecoglou’s side.

There is no doubt; we cannot underestimate the Hungarian champions, who featured in the Champions League group stage last campaign.

It will be a tough fixture; that is key to see who could be playing European football after Christmas, and fingers crossed we can pull off a good result, continuing the decent run of form.
