CELTIC loan bhoy Liam Scales put Aberdeen ahead against The Rangers on Sunday afternoon with a 40-yard hit that ended up in the back of the net.

When you look at the replay of the goal, it’s clear the defender looks up to pick out a cross, but he gets so much power and height on it that it ends up in the back of the net.

Aberdeen would score a second and make sure of all three points against Michael Beale’s side.

After the game, the Aberdeen social media account and Liam thought they would troll the Ibrox club by claiming ‘of course he meant it’ as he gave a wink to the camera.

The result puts Celtic within touching distance of the SPFL title, the Hoops able to secure two in a row as early as May 6th.

Liam has put the his parent club on a trajectory to potentially wrap up the league title on the coronation weekend. The Rangers had the chance to delay that by winning at Pittodrie, but they couldn’t get the job done.

Up next for the Ibrox club is Celtic at Hampden.
