Camilo Duran is set to be rewarded after a strong start to his Celtic career.
Duran has scored five goals in his first six games for the Hoops, including a weekend double.
He started through the middle in the absence of Kasper Hogh and seized his opportunity by netting twice against Falkirk on Saturday.
Duran has been named in Colombia’s preliminary list of call-ups for their triple-header of friendlies during the upcoming international break.
Via The Herald, the 24-year-old is on head coach Nestor Lorenzo’s list for their three games in September and at the beginning of October against Mexico, Paraguay and Peru; the three fixtures are all to be played in the USA.
He has yet to be capped for his country. Despite appearances in Colombia Under-20 squads, he did not appear at youth level. He’s put himself in the picture for a first senior call-up and looks set to be included in a new-look squad.
It will be Colombia’s first matches since they reached the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup before being eliminated by Switzerland after a penalty shootout.
A first call-up would be well deserved as Duran looks to continue impressing in the green and white, and soon the yellow of the South Americans.
