Celtic are geared up to take on Hearts in the SPFL on Wednesday evening, and they could have a returning summer signing back on the bench!

The pictures coming out of Lennoxtown on Tuesday afternoon show Benjamin Siegrist has rejoined training after a prolonged period of time out with injury.

The backup goalkeeper has not been fit to make a Celtic squad since December 28th against Hibernian.

Benjamin’s early appearances in the League Cup for Celtic sparked speculation that he would be a crucial player in the semi-final and final, should the team advance. However, because the goalkeeper was sidelined by injury, preventing him from participating in the semi-final at Hampden against Kilmarnock. Joe Hart stepped up to the challenge, retaining his position as number one.

Unfortunately, Benjamin’s injury persisted, forcing him to miss the final, where the bhoys emerged victorious against their arch-rivals, The Rangers.

It remains to be seen if Benjamin will be back on the bench or if third choice goalkeeper Scott Bain will continue to take a place in the dugout.

Since signing on a free last summer, the two League Cup appearances is all Benjamin has managed. Would Ange be so bold to bring him back and play him against Hearts in the Scottish Cup on Saturday?
