Celtic have a wealth of young talent at the club. In spite of this, there have been few opportunities of late for academy graduates to impress in the first team.

Due to this, many are making the decision to head out on loan. Bosun Lawal could be the latest to do so. The imposing central defender joined the Hoops from Watford in 2021. Since then, though, he has made just one first team appearance.

Now according to transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, the young Irishman is set to pen a new deal at Parkhead and join Scott Brown’s Fleetwood Town on loan for the 2023/24 season. In England’s third tier, Lawal will reunite with his old Celtic teammate Adam Montgomery who is also enduring a temporary spell with the Cods.

Scott Brown

Since Brown’s appointment as Fleetwood boss, Celtic have built up a strong relationship with the Fishermen. Lawal is the latest Hoops youngster to make the switch down South and as well as the move helping Brown, it also aids Lawal by giving him invaluable playing time and first team experience.
