Celtic captain Callum McGregor has revealed ‘the only way’ he and his Celtic teammates can turn the club’s fortunes around.

It seems as though things have been going downhill all season, and they took another turn for the worst when David Watson equalised at the last minute on Saturday afternoon. Two more points were thrown away in the title race and fans were left furious.

McGregor said after the game that there are ‘maybe’ some players in the team who do not yet understand the level and standard required to play for Celtic. A concerning admission from the skipper, it is his and the manager’s responsibility to ensure the message of having to perform every week gets over to some of The Bhoys.

The standards at Celtic are almighty but at the minute, they are not being met. Results and performances aren’t up to par, but the captain has revealed how things can be turned around.

Speaking to CeltsAreHere after Saturday’s game, he said: “You’ve got to do the basics of the game together.

“If you do that, you give yourself half a chance but if you don’t do that then it becomes individuals and they’re all running about trying to do their own thing and they’re all trying to give their maximum but ultimately if you do it on your own you’re never going to achieve anything.

“It has to be a strong mentality from everyone to do the job of everyone in the team.

“That’s the only way to turn it around.”
